31 January 2020REPORT - Planning at the January parish council meeting
The parish council meeting of 17th January was so well attended we relocated from the lounge to the main hall - thank you to all of you who came and expressed your views.
The main topic was the South Street Outline planning application for 37 homes. A short presentation was given by a representative for the applicant and then time was given for residents to express their concerns and make comments.
Following on from this and an opportunity for Parish Councillors to ask questions and express their views, Walton Parish Council recommended REFUSAL of the application - mainly for Highway access and safety concerns, although other issues raised were flooding, water pressures and environmental impact.
The District and County Councillors were in attendance and are therefore fully aware of resident's views.
Your parish council will now track the application through the Mendip District Council planning process, reiterating the concerns raised where possible and keeping you up to date with any decisions made.
